Skills for working with ‘hard-to-reach’ learners

This course is now full

Starting 11th June 2007 This course will enable you to develop skills and knowledge for working with hard to reach learners in neighbourhood and community settings.

Work in the future depends on front line organisations having volunteers or fractional staff to be effective in getting into communities and developing contacts and working with potential learners. Each time an opportunity to do this work arises, there is a struggle to find and induct suitable workers. These skills/knowledge needs to be developed and consolidated in advance

This programme is for you if you are a worker, volunteer or agency seeking to:

* build community capacity for regeneration and renewal (LSP context)
* help hard to reach learners into learning and onto learning journeys (NLDC and PCDL work - Entry Level & First Steps learning opportunities)
* widen agency practice to connect with hard to reach learners, neighbourhoods and communities, in relation to voluntary sector work (Volunteering, community group development)
